Can't say mine is very good, a WRX STI, 300 Hemi, couple of Camrys, lots of trucks (Canada), and a few mom SUV's. Plus my Sonoma of course!

How Jaloppo (new word!) is your parking lot?

Best thing out there is a Touareg. A few old Civics, an Element, an automatic Golf, automatic Subaru Legacy sedan (late 90s, good car but automatic), a scion xb, and four of us took the bus to work.

So... not very jaloppo...

I had an awesome 80's BMW in the garage, but I don't think they work here anymore because I haven't seen it in a while. I wish I remembered the badge on it. There is an R8 that comes in every once and a while, but its rare.

Outside my building (it's a pretty large campus) there are

- Maserati Quattroporte (CFO's)

-E46 M3 convertible (my director's)

- Tesla Model S (not sure this counts as jalop? I'd say yes)

- Tesla Roadster

- Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible (996)

- Lotus Elise every now and then

- Subaru WRX

- my Subaru LGT Wagon (of course!)

- early 90s Toyota Tercel I saw this morning (has a few racing school stickers on it and a stick shift, so I think this is the most jalop of the lot).

Two 2000s tauruses, an automatic ranger, a lumina LTZ, a mid 2000s dakota, a suzuki samurai, a chevy 1500 silverado from the 90s, and a ford explorer. I'm the only jalop car there.

And when my boss shows up it's even worse - a 2009 honda accord I-4 with the automatic. The regular car review is aimed DIRECTLY at my boss. He is all about his business accounts and blames any weird seat settings or odd objects as "my wife had to drive it". And he did try and defend the choice of the inline-4 with "Well you should know that this is the motor all the hip happening young people buy"......I about peed my pants in the RCR with how accurate it is.

We have tons of Camry, civics, SUVs, trucks, etc. there are a few good ones though. About 6 mustang GTs, one of which is a GT/CS, another is a 2005 convertible from the first production run of 50, a new A class Mercedes, my bosses boss has an Audi A7, there's an auto X prepped mini, an older Maserati coupe (early 2000s), occasionally a z06, early 70s chevelle, jaguar xk, range rover, challenger RT, a couple of MK6 GTIs, and a Porsche boxster. That's about it for the good ones.

Most popular car is definitely the prius. Next would be accord/camry/altima/jetta. Surprisingly few SUV/trucks (could be the low overhang in the structure). Lots of 3 series/A4s/C classes.

A few interesting things though. It's better in the summer...but the stuff that's caught my eye in the last few days:

70s 911

740 Turbo Wagon

240 Wagon

Heavily modded STI

Modded A3 TDI

Lots of other decent VAG stuff (4 or 5 GTIs, TT-RS, S5)

E39 M5

Jag XJ

Fiesta ST

Saab 9000

3 Mazdaspeed 3s

There's a guy with a Cayman and an Elise but in the winter he drives a 90s Sentra SE-R

Probably some more, but I've been getting to work early enough to park on the bottom couple levels so I don't see as much as when I come in late.

3) 2011 Durango R/T (finance guy)
4) 2014 Ram 1500 Black Express (my friend the lube tech)
5) 2013 Nissan Maxima (salesman)

There's a few standouts: someone has an Alfa Spyder that they drive occasionally, there's a Boxster, a couple Miata's show up when it's nice out, there's an Evo, GTi, ans MS3 I believe, and an E39 M5 (I think it's an E39). Oh, and I saw a Europa one day, but haven't seen it since. Still really want to know who owns it.

In a word. Not. My car is the only thing resembling an enthusiast, or even remotely exciting car. Unless you're into beige Accords, Corollas, and other appliances.

Oh there are, buddy had a couple different ones on his. I'm on my second LS2 powered vehicle...the last one had long tubes, no cats, and a factory 3" exhaust. Was different. Subtle, but different. And not loud or obnoxious.

This is probably the best color combo I've seen on the RS. The 2nd is the green w/ black accents.

I totally agree, the blue/red is my favorite. I also like the dark gray/red. I never cared much for the green, white, silver or orange. GIS turned up one that's gulf livery colors and that looks pretty bad aceeee but I dont think it was factory. The green reminds me of a RUF I have in Forza, which is nicknamed "the ninja turtle." Couldn't get past that if I owned one in real life =)

You MUST. Do you have any pictures of it handy? I love me some UNIMOG. The big Benzo star on the front would make the G-Class drivers feel so inferior. It would be marvellous

I'm certainly spoilt living/working in the SF Bay Area...I used to live a few blocks down from the main Tesla showroom in Menlo Park. The Model S is all over the place out here...roadster is definitely FAR less common - apart from the one at work I probably see one every few weeks or so.

We've got the Model S all over as well, I've been to their (tiny) showroom in Bellevue, WA a few times. All the Microsofties drive them. Almost no roadsters, for fairly obvious reasons.

I work for a school district, so most people are jalop on accident, not by design.

I've seen a few stanced cars, mostly econocrap, but one of them is a BMW. Just saw it in passing yesterday, didn't pay much attention.

When I was in high school, a lot of people were big into the low-rider Chevy S10 or Ford Ranger thing. I have to hand it to the kids these days, at least they're doing something other than lowriding their cars.

To be fair, it is often stated in reviews that the lighter weight of the four-cylinder (paired with manual though) makes the car more balanced, though it is also stated that the six-cylinder is quite fast (for a car of its type/size).

Do you think a business man who goes on business trips for the company to get away from his wife would know the difference? Because that's the type of person who buys a four cylinder, automatic accord and thinks it is the greatest thing on four wheels. I drove his car once. The gear "selector" took many seconds to respond, even in automatic mode. The engine was anemic at best. Tires were a joke so I didn't bother trying to drive down back roads. The car is "easy to use" and that's about all I can say for it in a positive light. I *might* drive a V6 manual coupe accord myself, but that is a very big stretch and would depend on a massive discount.

That's pretty much why my usual recommendation/suggestion for a new midsized car is a Mazda6.

Here are some of the highlights:

A few 911's of various generations and trims (including a Vorsteiner Turbo S)

R8 V10

S65 AMG

Maserati Gran Turismo

C6 Corvette Z06

Bunch of BMWs (including a new 4 series and a few M3's)

Late 70's Corvette and a 60's Camaro

And of course, the standard econo-car lineup in the rear lot where all the non-execs park haha. Needless to say, my EJ6 Civic lives there.
